Silvariano is a small editorial index. It covers eleven hotels in four categories: art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels.
Each hotel gets a few paragraphs of prose. We describe what the building is, where it stands and what a stay there is like. We do not score hotels, rank them against each other or run a booking service.
Why so few?
A short list can be read properly. Every hotel was chosen because it shows its category clearly, and because its character can be described without exaggeration.
Casino hotels are treated as hotels first. The gaming floor is mentioned as one feature of each property, alongside the rooms, the restaurants and the setting.
Independence
No hotel pays to be included, and none has approved what we wrote. Where a detail tends to change, such as an operator, a facility or seasonal opening, we say so and suggest checking with the hotel.
